Past, Present, Future

TRYC was incorporated on January 7th, 1981 by the Province of Ontario as a not for profit corporation and operates as a self help club. The club owns the yacht basin and a large grass area suitable for folding sails, picnics, or an evening bonfire. The membership elects a board of directors annually and all senior members (including you!) are entitled to vote on a one vote per boat basis.
Over the years we have added amenities as our little club grew. A large and very strong gin pole for stepping masts was one of our first construction projects. There is no charge for it's use to members. During the low water levels of 1999 / 2001 TRYC was fortunate to have the cash reserves to fund two consecutive years of dredging, this allowed boats of over 6 ft draft to continue to enjoy our yacht basin when boaters at other area marinas churned mud. We again decided in the fall of 2007 that the basin needed to dredged, which in turn again allows boaters with large drafts to enjoy our club.

Each year we manage to complete a number of projects to improve the ammenities at the club: deck on the clubhouse, gazebo, very large gin pole deck, improvements to hydro & water facilities, dinghy dock and on and on - the list is quite long and we're proud of our achievements.

Part of our strength is due to our Past Commodores who have charted our course and with dedication and hours of hard work saw our club through 30 years of progress.
