In my new position as Commodore I would personally like to invite all to visit our improved home at Light house cove. I say improved because after a year of frustration, we finally have our basin dredged . This was carried out at the end of the season, when the water table was already low, and we dredged from 6 to 7 feet. We should therefore be able to invite any one to our club regardless of water level. I am seriously looking forward to the coming season, our board is filled with a cross section of young, (and some a little older) enthusiastic Sailors and power boaters. The Thames River Yacht Club still has a few wells available, if you are looking for a new place to dock your vessel for the season, please contact us. If it’s only for the week end – just show up, we’d love to meet you, and there is usually something going on that you can join in. On most week ends I can be found sailing around in Julia Rose ( I have a new Genoa and need to justify it) or in well number 13. So come by and say hi. There are also plans for more raft offs this year, this is scheduled to involve at least more than one boat at anchor and a progressive party that will extend from one end of the vessels to the other. So if you see a raft off of any size, please pull up alongside and join in. Most of the people that come to Light house cove become regulars visitors, (we have one in particular who came all the way from England, as is coming back again this year with friends!) Please surf through our web site and meet the rest of the members who make TRYC such a great place to be.
